Bastion class Battleship by DissidentZombie Bastion class Battleship by DissidentZombie
got tired of drawing small ships. no sense of grandness involved with those. this one's based off the old circa 1912 Imperial England dreadnoughts that formed the spine of their navy.

Tech Specs:

Length: 1020 meters
7 "Titan" Dual Superheavy Plasma Turrets
10 Quad AS Plasma Turrets
12 "Occulus" AS Laser Turrets
14 Point Defense Anti-Fighter/Anti-Missle Octets
16 Captial Ship Warhead Launchers
2 "Fan" Multipurpose Warhead Launchers (15 tubes per)
8 Grappling Cutter Hull Points
Crew: 120 Officers, 2600 Enlisted, 800 Marines
Carrier Capacity: 4 Assault Dropships, 1 Fleet Shuttle, 12 Drone Interceptors

The Bastion class Battleship is one of the most feared capital starships ever created. Although nearing a decade of service, this exceptionally well designed battleship still serves in the NTG Navy as a frontline vessel after several small refits. Primarily designed for ship to ship combat, the Bastion is also capable of planetary bombardment with its 14 Titan cannons.

The battleship is also capable of boarding action. 4 Grappling Cutter utilities on each side of the ship can latch on to a target vessel, bringing it alongside so the cutting lasers can drill a hole through the armor, allowing the marines to board via 4 extendable armored airlocks.

Weapons and Marines aside, the survivability of this ship is the primary reason why it is still in service. The ship was termed near invincible when it was first introduced. Thick Titanium/Neutronium armor surround the entire superstructure, while the interior of the ship is a mass of honeycombed titanium beams, leaving no useless empty spaces. The hull is further strengthened by self sealing foam canisters that fire off extremely dense and hard foam into unoccupied sectors of the ship in case there is a hull breach.

With no real weaknesses, the Bastion will probably remain in service until an extremely advanced frontline ship is introduced.

Well I'm surprised that Games Workshop didn't make something like this design dude

Nice design, and I just love the details you've given. A design like this always works better when the artist has given some thougt to how it would work.

Looks pretty formidable, judging by its armored look and large firepower. But it doesn't look like it's aerodynamically superior, and all that armor and weaponry could weigh it down, drastically hindering its speed and maneuvering capabilities. Does it have anything to compensate for its lack of movement capability?

In space, objects do not need to be aerodynamic. Only in atmosphere do they need to be shaped a certain way in order to travel with lower air resistance. Ships like these rely on momentum and can produce constant acceleration, thus having theoretically infinite speed, so long as the superstructure and crew can withstand gravitational stresses as the ship passes near stellar objects (search 'inertial dampener'). As for maneuverability, it isn't. It's supposed to be a big lumbering juggernaut. That's why there's a ton of small turrets on it to kill the more maneuverable smaller vessel types, leaving the big guns to plaster planets, stations, and other large ships. Tactics-wise, this ship would be most effective in fleet formation, where a few of these ships can throw up firepower in grids to funnel smaller enemy ships into killzones and provide overlapping defensive fire for each other.
